Kabbir Seth is a filmmaker, AI director, and founder of Sartaj Films and the Academy of AI Filmmaking. He began in technology — a Master’s in Computer Science and six years as a software engineer — before founding Sartaj Films, giving him a rare command of both the engineering behind AI and the craft of cinema. This is the journey.

After completing my post-graduation in IT from Sikkim Manipal University, I joined the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), an esteemed R&D organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), as a Project Associate.

I got the unique opportunity to develop and implement a customized Telemedicine Application connecting healthcare providers with patients in underserved regions — a significant contribution to revolutionizing healthcare access in rural communities. My project was presented to Shri Dayanidhi Maran, Hon’ble Union Minister of Communications and IT, and Shri Brijesh Kumar, Secretary to the GoI, Ministry for Communications & IT, who greatly appreciated the outcomes.

Senior Software Engineer

In November 2007, I joined as a Senior Software Engineer and was assigned to a highly reputed client — British Airways.

I spearheaded the networking team, responsible for designing British Airways’ overseas network across worldwide airports and ensuring the network infrastructure supported seamless operations and connectivity. This experience broadened my understanding of global network design and operations.

As I continued to advance in my career, I realized that my true passion lay in pursuing something of my own.

Entrepreneur

Driven by my ambition to do something unique, I embarked on a journey to explore my creative side — fashion portfolios, product photography and video shoots, all on a modest scale. This step marked the beginning of my transition from a successful career in technology to the world of creative entrepreneurship, building strong professional connections with clients ranging from company Directors to decision makers.

During this time, I also learned interior photography. As my reputation grew, I began working for interior magazines, and was recognized as one of the top ten interior photographers in India by one of them.

By this time, my knowledge in videography and editing had expanded multifold. Together with my partner Preeti, we formed a new company named Sartaj Films — Preeti as the Creative Director responsible for pre-production, planning, and conceptualization, and myself overseeing production and post-production.

With growing experience, we began producing corporate films and carved a niche for ourselves by working with some of the top brands.

Into the fast lane.

One of the biggest milestones in my career was entering the automobile and healthcare industries. We created our first corporate film for Audi, Gurgaon, with a modest budget — and after impressing our clients with back-to-back masterpieces, we never looked back. This success opened doors to projects from other prestigious brands like Porsche, Lamborghini, and BMW.

A personally memorable moment was directing my childhood star, Kapil Dev, during the Porsche India Panamera launch.

December 2017 marked a significant milestone when we proudly became a partner of the Mrs. India beauty pageant. This partnership not only elevated our team’s presence but also aligned us with a prestigious platform, reflecting our commitment to supporting and celebrating excellence.

In the healthcare industry, we produced over 100+ corporate films, ads, and testimonials for leading hospitals such as Max Healthcare, Jaypee Hospital, Aakash Healthcare, Paras Healthcare, Manipal Hospitals, Columbia Asia, Sarvodaya, and Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital. My efforts were recognized with an award for best performance, presented by Shri J.C. Chaudhry, Chairman of Aakash Healthcare.

Sartaj Films Entertainment.

In 2021, recognizing the growth potential in the OTT field, we entered the entertainment industry by launching a new vertical, Sartaj Films Entertainment, in Mumbai. Under this banner we presented our short film ‘I Hate Goodbyes’, featuring renowned actor Suresh Menon and actress Aneri Vajani, produced our first virtual reality show ‘Grand Jury India’ for a UK-based company, and created the documentary film ‘Paani Police’ for Dr. Kiran Bedi’s NGO.
